Modified Reconditioned Nilfisk SC Delta Installation For A Food Factory In Measham
What they needed
We were asked to supply and install a fully reconditioned Delta booster pressure washer system for a food processing factory in Measham. The customer was experiencing low water pressure on site and needed a reliable, high-performance cleaning solution for daily washdown operations, while keeping installation costs as low as possible. A reconditioned system offered a cost-effective alternative to purchasing a brand-new machine.
Problem / Requirement
- Existing machine: An older KEW multipump system had been in use for more than 20 years and required frequent repair.
- Main issues: Low mains water pressure, ageing equipment, and increasing downtime due to ongoing failures.
- Site conditions: Cleaning demands included factory washout areas, dolavs, and lorries, with high usage levels and long operating periods.
- Usage: Approximately 50 hours per week for industrial cleaning across multiple areas of the site.
We had been looking after the old KEW system for years, but time, age, and repeated failures meant a replacement was the most reliable long-term solution.
Our Solution / Work Carried Out
- Supplied and installed a fully reconditioned Delta booster pressure washer system.
- Stripped, restored and rebuilt the machine from the ground up, including all key mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components.
- Designed and fitted a custom-made 160-litre break tank, replacing the standard 80-litre tank to combat low mains water pressure.
- Configured the unit as a cold-fed machine suitable for continuous industrial use.
- Installed high-pressure flexible hoses instead of fixed pipework to keep initial installation costs down.
- Set up a quad manifold to allow multiple operators to feed from the same system as required.
- Commissioned the system with a scheduled biannual servicing to support long-term reliability and performance
The Result
- The reconditioned Delta system now provides reliable, high-performance cleaning for up to 50 hours per week.
- The custom 160-litre break tank eliminates low pressure issues and ensures consistent water supply to the pump.
- Flexible hose connections allowed the customer to reduce upfront installation costs while still maintaining full operational capability.
- The factory can now clean production areas, wash out dolavs, and wash lorries efficiently with reduced downtime and improved performance compared to the old KEW system.
